linksys wireless router n 150

Problem with linksys WRT-150 N wireless router?

I have a linksys WRT-150 N router and a Shiro modem.I tried to use the CD that came with it to set up the router but after some steps it just says that router cant connect to the internet try switching off your modem and turning it back on.I did it but it didnt help.can some one tell me how to set up the router manually…..I tried but still cant connect to the internet.I can only connect to the wireless network….Need help…

if you find the manual ( either online ) or the actual paperback copy it should tell you in there or on the underside of the router what the default ip address of your router is. Once you know this you also need to know the default username and password for your router which again will be in the manual once you know this you can use firefox or internet explorer ( or any web browser ) to go to the configuration page by using the ip address ie

in the address bar enter the ip address ie

192.168.x.x

where x.x are the 2 last octets of the ip address of your router.

Once there you should be able to enter the connection details to connect to your ISP ( if you need to know these details call your ISP aka your internet service provider for the connection details if you need any ie username, password or static ip address or dhcp aka automatic ip address configuration and dhcp stands for dynamic host configuration protocol.

If need be on the router there should be a small button which if you use a paper clip or something similiar and hold down it should restore the settings of your router to default factory settings.
