Will N router vs wireless internet speed up a current G router?
Just bought a Sony Vaio laptop and an Internet connection through a Linksys Wireless G wireless router. I have about 4 megs to your desktop via cable connection, but the laptop only gets 0.5 MB. (Speed Test conducted online.) Laptop lags bigtime and still losing the signal. Tried to use Linksys N adapter laptop, but it seems have little or no difference. Any idea what is wrong or what I can do to speed things up would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
With your laptop, check for other channels (not yours) people are using. If other people are using the same channel, you are sharing the same frequency with other people. Go to router configured. Change the channel to the channel that people are not using.
