Set Xbox 360 Live NAT to open?
\My xbox live NAT type is set to strict. I have my Xbox 360 in another room, and plugged into my laptop (my laptop gets wireless). I could connect to the internet fine and get on XBL with Automatic settings. But like I said, it said my NAT is strict.
I have a Linksys WRT54GS V7 wireless router.
I read for 2 hours and tried so much crap to cry to open it, and it STILL does not work.
Can somebody PLEASE give me either a step by step instruction, or give me a GOOD link.
Dont just google something and send me a link.
The wrt54g series router is one of the best, you can even flash it with dd-wrt if you want to unlock the hardware to support more features. Really the 360 should be plug and play unless your nat is restricted. If you are playing halo and it says you have a restricted nat you need to go into your router settings and use port forwarding to open up your nat.
On the xbox you need to go to the my xbox tab and press right until you get to the system settings. Then go to network, and go to manual settings. Set your ip to 192.168.0.10 and save.
Then on the computer press a key that looks like the windows icon and the R key at the same time. It will bring up a run prompt. Then type in “cmd” and hit enter. This will bring up a command prompt. Type “ipconfig” and it will list your ip, mac, and default gateway. Write down the numbers for your default gateway (it should be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.254 or 192.168.1.254)
Then go on your computer type in the number for your default gateway in internet explorer. It should try to log onto the router. Type in “admin” as the user and “admin” as the pass and it should let you in.
go to the “applications and gaming” tab
Add xbox live to port 88 to port 88 as UDP to 192.168.0.10
and xbox live to port 3074 to 3074 as both TCP and UDP to 192.168.0.10
Save your settings and restart your xbox, go to your network on the xbox to make sure it’s 192.168.0.10 and your nat should be open now.
If you don’t want to use 192.168.0.1-100 you can use 192.168.0.100-200 just make sure your numbers match up and you wont’ have any problems.
Let me know if you have any questions, i strive to get the best answer for every question i answer.
