xbox live network connection problem?
ok so i have been on xbox live for about a year and a half and iv’e never had this problem. today when i was playing, everything was running well, except my NAT was strict. so i unplugged my router, like i always do to fix this problem, and then i went back to my xbox and it wouldn’t let me connect. i try resetting my modem and router, and it still wouldn’t work. I went to my network settings -> configure network and i had my ip settings to automatic. well, my ip address us to be 192.168.1.100, given off by a linksys router, but now it is something completely random, and something ive never seen before and it’s obviously not a legit ip. i dont know why this is happening, and why i cant connect to xbox. can someone please help?
btw- my wireless adapter has the green light on while all of this is happening and for all i know my xbox is in good shape, so i dont think its a hardware issue. my router is a linksys WRT54G
sounds like your router has reset itself to default settings. did you make a backup of its config somewhere that you can load back onto it? if not then see if it has a setup wizard and go through and do it all again.
