How I can configure my router to accept remote desktop connections?
How I can configure my router to accept connections from desktop Remote? I want to be able to connect to my computer at home from work with a remote desktop connection. I am running Windows XP Pro, I have a Linksys SpeedBooster router Wireless and I have allowed my team to allow remote connections. I have tried to connect to my IP, but does not work. How I can connect to my computer? (I want to connect from browser … ip that I write it there? The router or the computer? I have not lost because NAT routers hide the ip of the computers on my home? so idk .. Please help! thankyou
The router vpn does so there is no real way to safety you can do this. You can configure the router to extend the connection ports Remote Desktop to your PC. I think 3389 and 80 (tcp) are needed to advance. Check your user guide or download Linksys router elinksys ยบ websitre on how that forward ports. I think it is under the Applications tab and games from the router configuration page. You want to give your PC a fixed address onyour local LAN.
