linksys wireless router network printer setup
Trying to setup wireless network to share network ready printer?

I am using 2 work laptops both running XP Pro. and some fire wall (not sure how to identify them). I am using a linksys WRT54G wireless/wired router. Both my laptops are connected wirelessly to the router and my desktop is connected using the ethernet wire to the router. All the computers are getting internet connection. I have connected the network ready printer via cable to the router. So my questions are:

How do I get all these computers to see each other. I understand I may have to disable firewall, but may not be possible as its a work computer so I dont have admin access. Also I dont want to connect the printer to a computer, but rather to the router so all machines can print on it independently. Please advise in details.

How do I see the printer (it does get a dynamic IP address through my internet provider)
Please make sure to add details about how to see the other computers on this network and allow file sharing.

you can use the printer via IP printing. plug your printer into the router with a network patch cable. print out a configuration page from the printer (which will include the IP address of the printer). on the computers themselves, go to printers and faxes in control panel, and add printer. choose the option of “a printer connected to my computer” but uncheck the option of “automatically detect my plug and play printer”. it will ask you what port you want to put the printer on, choose new port, and from the drop down menu select TCP/IP. continue and in the IP address prompt, enter the IP address of the printer. from there you will need to install the drivers for the printer, which you can do from the disc that came with the printer.
