Will having a wireless router’s broadcast hidden affect connectivity?
My household recently got a Linksys router not too long ago, and the broadcast has been turned off for increased security. Well, there seems to be the problem in that the wireless disconnects a lot. Could having the broadcast hidden affect connectivity?
it is called SSID not “router’s broadcast ”
no it should not,
and by the way hiding the SSID will not give you more security, if some one want to attack your network he will be able to know your SSID.
securing your wireless depends on :
1- use good encryption , WPA2 with AES if available but never use WEP
2- use good key “password” of at least 12 Character or more (20 is very recommended), and include capital letters, numbers and special characters (#, %, &, $,….)
