wireless expander?
How do you set up a linksys wireless-G range expander when you have WEP protection? I have been trying to set it up and the router has password protection but the range expander does not. If anyone can give me a step by step process that would be great. Thanks!
you must 1st connect the expander thru ethernet cable to your PC. Then launch the setup utility on the cd provided. when the wiz starts it’ll 1st find your wireless network choose it and confirm that you want to connect to it. it will now look for your expander try this repeatdly till it finds it. next it will show your expander together with the secturity configuration required to set it up enter the gateway to the internet device IP in default gateway field (usually 192.168.1.1 if its a linksys gateway) leave other settings as is and confirm. If successful it’ll say congrats. unplug the ethernet & move your expander where you want. Now reconnect to your wireless network.
