Problem set Linksys WRE54G Range Expander manually.?
I tried to configure the WRE54G through the cd, but no joy. Do not want to use the cd. So I decided to create manually. I used this link http://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-to, review-308.html help me. It worked until the 9th stage. Once I set up WPA security, I clicked OK in the window that appeared, and everything crashed. I checked the wireless networks and security did not approach on the network to the expander. Also, the link LED is red on the WRE54G was real. I managed before with my linksys router, but I've had to change nothing works! My router is 192.168.0.1, the sky wireless router Sagem f @ st 2420. I changed the WAN to 192.168.1.239 to see my expander. Then changed my expander to 192.168.0.40 so that my router and the computers and expansion can talk to each other! Then switched back to WAN 192.168.0.9 Please help. Sorry is a Sagem f @ st 2504
Wow .. what a mess. First, if the routers WAN port is connected to the Internet, you should not change that. You must get an IP from your modem or your ISP depending on how they are setup. And rarely do they hand out 192.168.0.x IP. Once the change back to DHCP, the teams can to get on the internet again. Now, for expansion, possibly connected to one of the ports on the router correct? Give it an IP address of something like 192.168.0.220. Now the teams you can see, you see the router, etc. Unless you have more than 1 router, everything should be on the same IP address range .. 192.168.0.xo 1.x. You can not get mix all this and I hope work.
