linksys wireless router security settings
Why do I have to restart my wireless router every morning for it to work?

I am using a linksys router and connecting my laptop to the internet wirelessly. I have a good signal and stay connected all day. The only problem is when I open my laptop in the morning, my internet will only connect with limited or no activity….meaning I am connected but it won’t allow me to do anything. The only way for it to connect fully again is if I go unplug the router/modem and after it restarts again, I have full access.

If it has to do with the security settings, I am using WPA Personal.
Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions, they would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time.

It could be anything from atmospheric conditions to a predetermined “time out” period established by your internet carrier.

To see if it’s “timing out”…before you go to bed visit this sight which will automatically refresh your homepage or any page you tell it to refresh at whatever time you tell it to refresh it…

I’d put in something like msn dot com and set it up for a refresh every 20 minutes.

If you still have a connection in the morning then I’m pretty sure it’s your carrier. Call them and they’ll tell you how to change what’s necessary with your router to prevent that from happening and if it’s the weather you’re just s.o.l.
