How do you switch a Linksys router from cable to dsl internet?
I have a Linksys Wireless-G BroadBand Router WRT54G v.5 that has been connected to my cable internet but I have now switched to dsl but cant get the router working with it. I have a laptop that I run wirelessly and a desktop that’s hardwired into it and neither will work but it will work when the modem is hardwired into the desktop. I’ve tried resetting everything and even did the basic setup over again (putting in the IP address and changed my settings) but nada. Anyone know what to do?
It’s always best to leave the router in DHCP mode so it can pick up an IP address from your internet provider. Also, your modem is probably already logged into your provider’s network, so you’ll need to set your router to NOT log in as PPOE.
