HELP! Can’t setup or install Linksys WRT54GL.?
I’ve just purchased a Linksys WRT54GL Wireless Router and when I attempt to install the software provided on the CD I get to Step 7. It asks for a password (no user name just password), once I’ve entered something in (tried “1234″ and “admin”) nothing happens. I click “next” and it asks for a password again! I can’t get past this step and it’s most frustrating. Please help me!!!
P.S. I’ve tried resetting it by holding in the “reset” button for 10 or 30 seconds.
You don’t need that software. Just plug in your router to the outbound internet line and to your computer. Set your computer to use dhcp (likely already set). Then open up your web browser and go to 192.168.1.1 Normally you would use no username and “admin” as the password. From there you can do anything with the router you need to without BS software running on your system for no reason.
