linksys wireless router speed booster wrt54gs

Connect Wireless with Linksys Wireless Router?

I was wondering if for the “Linksys by Cisco, Wireless-G Broadband Router with speed booster” model no. WRT54GS i would need to have a desktop computer to set it up.
I only have a laptop(Dell Inspiron 1721) and want it to be able to connect wireless without a destop computer…would this product work for that or do i need something other?

Plug an ethernet cable to your laptop and router. Log in to the router. Ensure that you wireless is turned On, verify your SSID and Encryption code. Log out of the router disconnect the ethernet cable. Set up your wireless connection using the SSID and Encryption code.
