Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G with SpeedBooster Broadband Router for BSNL Internet Connection?
I want to purchase Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G with SpeedBooster Broadband Router available on SwamiPC website
http://www.swamipc.in/product_info.php?cPath=55&products_id=330
I’m not too expert in Wireless Routers. My question is whether this router will work with BSNL Connection or not?
Any review for this router?
I am not familiar with your particular internet provider but it really does not matter
The Linksys router is fine .
However basically all wireless routers are ok.
The Linksys router was the standard
However the product was cheapened in order to save manufacturing costs.
It is not the wondeful product it was
Some people even say that it is a poor product as compared to other routers ( and certainly what it was)

Linksys sells the previous version as the wrt54gl

This product supports 3rd party firmwares that allow for advanced features
There are many – the best well known is sveasoft

You will invalidate your Linksys warranty
However this is commonly done and as a matter of routine with few problems
Another :

You can read at :

You can add the “speedboost” as a feature
Note with the speedboost you have to have the matching Linksys gs card as a network adapter
It will not speed up standard g cards
Indeed if you have one regular g card on a b card it may well reduce the network down to that level
Also note : these numbers thrown out are all fantasy island
- generally the speeds are at best even 1/2 of that
- even an older b card ( rated at 11 mb/s) is way way faster than your intenet connection
– speed drops off rapidly with distance – especially after 30 feet. If you are going to do large file high speed transfers you may as well use a cable
All in all any g card router that is on sale should do you fine
do not let them talk you into the newest n models
unless you have the n ( latest hocus pocus , only one you generally can use if you have the latest os , vista ) network adapter card
