Does anyone know how to hook up a wifi printer?
I bought an HP 6980 Deskjet printer with built in wifi, 6 months ago. Since then I’ve made many attempts to connect it wirelessly to my laptop all ending in frustration. The USB printer cable is only way I can print with it. I have a Linksys WRT54G3G-ST router that works with a Sprint Moblie Broadband Card. The router lacks an Easy Setup button or a usb port, so the only other way is to temporarily connect the printer to the laptop with an ethernet cable to setup up the wireless connection. Unfortunately, I get a ‘limited or no connectivity” message for my LAN connection. Anyone experience this situatuion? Can you please help me?
I have a wifi printer also, though not HP.
I had to hook it up to a computer, install drivers onto the printer itself, and select which computers would be printing to it, then remove the usb cable, and it works fine now.
Even though it’s advertised at being able to print wirelessly, you do need to have it connected to a pc to configure it.
