Connecting a Linksys wireless router.?
I have a desktop PC that connects to the Internet via a broadband modem cable. A friend gave me a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54GS model with the launch of CD, but no instructions on how to connect is: what order (1 cable modem then router or vice versa), so cable hook up where. I tried the Linksys site and found a user guide that displays in English, but is printed in another language. Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to do this? Thanks
Unplug the power to your cable modem. Connect the modem and the router with an ethernet cable. Connect the power cable from the modem and wait for the lights to blink normally, then connect the router power. At that point you should be able to connect to the router with a cable connection. Assuming that works, when you have a connection using your browser go to 192.168.1.1 which is the local address of your router. From there you should be able to configure the wireless settings and others. The default router connection should not be username and password should be admin
