I have pc and laptop linked to the net with cable modem + linksys wtg54g wireless router why are ips the same?
I purchased a static ip from my provider and we have a dynamic set up too. Why is the desktop not logging to the dynamic and the laptop to the static? It worked at one time and the cable people worked on the dish and now the two computers log on to the same ip….the routers ip number! Help!
A network has an inside IP and an outside IP. The outside ip is the same for both computers. Inside your network the router will dynamically assign IP’s to your systems. These are the inside IP’s.
