How do I turn off the wireless part of my Linksys router?

I have a feeling that someone is using my internet access via my wireless router. I do not use the wireless part, just got a good deal on it when I bought it. In the past 2 days, I have been having trouble, getting notices that “There is a conflict with my IP address”. The other computer on my network stays running, why is it just mine that disconnects? I know it disconnects because I run Ares, and it has your total consecutive time online at the very top. When I came home today after 3 hours, it said 6 minutes. Any help please.

It is, Linksys Wireless – G Broadband router Model # WRT54G

Linksys WRT 54 G- just did one today and the address is 192.168.1.1 the default usrname/pwd is admin/admin

Open IE, erase address bar and put in the above IP address and then hit go, input the username and pwd listed above and then you can set encryption. I was stunned they don’t have WPA, only WEP! Record the encryption key you use! in case you have a fiend or family come to visit with a laptop.

Change your default username/pwd for access to the router as your computer is wide open to drive by hacking with no encryption and default pwd!!!!!!! record these with your WEP Key and keep safe.

This should get you through 99 percent of all “Freeloaders” and drive by hackers.

Just google it and there are lots of instructions out there or just read the stuff that came with the router! It has everything you need packaged right in the box.
