linksys wireless router wrt54g firmware upgrade
I live my Xbox 360 cable with a Linksys router and I still pulled from Xbox Live. Why?

I have a Linksys WRT54G v6 (Firmware Version: v1.02.7) and I have my Xbox 360 wired to it, but I keep getting a kick. I have two other computers, an iMac and an IBM laptop that uses the router for wireless connections, well and the connection goes off and on for both. The only Linksys support gave me was to update my firmware and restart the router, I've done, but still does the same. I tried forwarding all the necessary ports for Xbox Live, but that does not seem to help. (Is it still necessary to transmit if your wiring?) Does anyone have information on what the problem might be?

I have the same router, and I've used both wired and wireless. the router is old and the quality is not on par with the most new, but should work however. a few things to note: first, what port is plugged into the router? if you are in port 1 will obtain better connection. seconds, if you tried port forwarding and port triggering should be set a static IP address on the 360, if you have not done is simple to do, just google "xbox 360 static IP, but the connection is to go out to both of the other computers on the network that sounds like the connection to the Internet from the" wall " that is causing the problem. we have had this happen last month, I made a service call and the technician came in all the cables tight blamed the router. but since then it has been so bad. so my advice is to make sure all cables are tight all the way from the cable box to the wall outlet (wherever is at home). If my advice did not help to call the ISP, which will be able to tell if your Internet connection is weak and can go from there. good luck
