Help!! I share a wireless connection with a housemate but need to be sure she can’t access my files.?
I am using a router to share my wireless connection. I am wondering if its possible that my housemate has access to my computer through Microsoft’s ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), which eliminates the need for her to go through my router?
I am a bit paranoid. I’ve seen strange things happen on my computer and if she is directly connected, then she can access files and accounts as if she were me, right?
I reinstalled my hard drive. Any setup advice/instructions??
It really feels like someone has control of my computer at times. I notice that when my system goes asleep, it will automatically awake late at night. I have also noticed changed settings on my system (i.e., my network and sharing settings). Just tonight, the startup sounds have been mysteriously disabled. Is that weird?..
Hi from France ♫
As long as you don’t allowed the ” Computer distance control ” well, she can’t have access to your files, account etc… She could have access to certain files, but ONLY if you activated the ” Share files ” … I guess you have a Firewall too …
It’s the Connection that is shared, not the computer !!
Have a great day,
Cat.
