Netgear Wireless Router WGR614 Wont Finish Installing!?
When I tried to install this router, I did it 5 times with the same ending result. After connecting everything together and firing the modem and router up, an internet explorer window is suppose to pop up so that you can finish setting it up. A window does pop up, but all it says is “Page Cannot Be Displayed”. What Gives? Ive tried Pinging the addresses 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 in the command prompt……but it fails. Ive also tried typing in all sorts of things in the address bar of the internet explorer page, such as www.routerlogin.net, www.routerlogin.com, www.routerlogin.net/basicsettings.htm., but it all ends there. Also, my service is provided through ATT and I have a 2Wire DSL Modem. Ive also shut off my Norton Firewall and Windows Firewall. The Only thing else to mention is that we run this program on our computer called K9 Web Protection, which monitors/blocks certain internet activity, which I havent messed with.
What model 2wire modem do you have? Are you sure it does not have a built in router already?
