Netgear WGT624 Wireless Router Connection drop?
Hello everyone, I have a problem with my netgear wireless router. The router I’m using currently, keeps on dropping the connection on my laptop. This droppage happens so often and I had to reset router or unplug everything and put it back together to get my connection back. The funny part is, my roommate and I have the same laptop and that does not happen to him.This router was initially my roommate’s and he had proper installation on his laptop when he bought the router. Now he lost the CD which means I can not install it on mine. I setup the wireless system by going into it’s admin web based system. Does anyone think the fact that I don’t have the proper installation on my laptop has something to do with the connection droppage? My laptop is fine and I use it with other wireless devises all the time with no connection droppage.
I would uninstall and reinstall the wireless network card drivers on your laptop. If your roommate truly has the same laptop and has no problems, it’s obviously not the router.
Also, Netgear has all the drivers for the router on their website.
