How to change my ip address, on wireless internet. Using netgear router.?
Im running a toshiba laptop
Wifi Atheros Mini PCI wireless lan.
Driver v 7.1.0.90
You need to tell your router you want a static ip.
Go to a command prompt. (Start > Run > CMD >Enter)
Type ipconfig.
Get the gateway ip address.
Open Internet Explorer.
Type http:\\{gateway ip address} in the address bar.
Your password for the router if set to default is usually admin or password, the username is almost always left blank.
Look for DHCP Server or something related to IP Addressing.
Make sure you are setting the values for the local network not the public interface.
The ip addressing scheme usualy is 192.168.x.x
