HP C5180 printer, Ethernet and wireless network connection?
Just bought the printer on the name and has an Ethernet port. I have a configuration wireless network at home. Both my main PC laptop and connect wirelessly to Internet via my: Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL2 + Modem Router Firewall with 4-Port 10/100 Switch The instruction in my printer's manual indicates how to connect the printer to a 'router, switch or hub with an Ethernet cable. I can do a physical connection between my Netgear router and my printer using the Ethernet network cable and therefore my laptop PC and then connect wirelessly the router then communicates with my printer? Could someone explain this to me I'm quite confused.
Simply plug the cable into a port erthernet free router and the other end to the printer. Install the HP software on all PCs to print. Any laptop or computer that connects to your router (either wired or wireless) will be able to access the printer.
