Need help setting up internet on PC that is connected to router (Netgear DGN2000 Modem router)?
Hi there, recently my family have bought a new modem router, a netgear Wireless N ADSL2+ DGN2000.
We have managed to set up the xbox 360 and 2 other family computers to the router. These three work fine however,
We cannot get the computer connected to the router to connect to the internet.
Is there anything I am doing wrong to cause this?
Also I am not the greatest with ICT so any simple help would be appreciated.

obviously the new router works fine if your xbox and 2 other computers are working
from experience i’m guessing it’s likely the computer that doesn’t work has not got something called DHCP turned on
assuming this computer has Windows XP try going through these steps:

if that doesn’t work it’s probably time to find a techie friend to come and help you because there could be numerous more reasons why the computer doesn’t work but it would be too tiresome to explain ALL the possible reasons here
