netgear wireless router problems dsl
Netgear wireless router?

It is connected to a DSL modem, which works perfectly well, so internet is working at my desk. However, my wireless internet does not work. My laptop shows Netgear is not connected to Internet. It has been so for a couple of weeks it worked fine before. I tried disconnecting and plugging it back in, I unhook the phone, connect the router directly to your computer without being connected to the modem. None of this worked. Any idea what the problem might be?

Do you have a DNS server IP Netgear lease? windows Key Holding and press "r" cmd ipconfig / all on the wireless network connection, note the IP default gateway and DNS server IP. They should be the LAN IP of router (check your desktop to obtain the router's LAN IP if you do not already know.) Set the DNS server manually http://www.mediacollege.com/computer/network XP / Vista If dns.html http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/e070bf7b-6d5e-4f49 -b4f7-10aa8d8b11e21033.mspx you have a DNS server (LAN IP router) and still not working, then try using OpenDNS. Just follow the guide http://www.opendns.com/
