netgear wireless router rangemax 150
What is the maximum I can get mbps to my router with a bandwidth of 6 Mbps Comcast?

My ISP is Comcast and I live in Pennsylvania. I hear bandwidth is 6Mbps so that's what I have. I used to have a 54Mbps wireless G router NETGEAR. I recently upgraded to a NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless Router N has a maximum of 270 Mbps, but my wireless card in my laptop is an 802.11b / g with up to 54Mbps. So with the new router does not go faster because of my wireless card. My computer runs at 6 Mbps Ethernet and listed on an exchange, local area connection and runs at 100Mbps. In this I am currently considering buying NETGEAR n USB wireless adapter which is about $ 80 at Best Buy. That is the point that worries me is that speed is not over 100 Mbps, and that is what runs on my computer. If anyone has any advice / suggestions or information for or against my thoughts, please send. *** I can not use a modem with my Dell Inspiron 1501 computer because when I connected to Comcast said it had wireless set something up for $ 150. So is wireless.

Your network has now run faster than the rest of the world. Visit www.speedtest.net and test to New York. Internet speed will always have a weakness before it hits your network. I would wait until the material is certified Wireless N (hopefully next summer) before you start throwing money at it.
