netgear wireless router setup ip

My xbox 360 wireless Adapter is detecting an ip address from my router.?

If I don’t have a WEP password on my netgear g router my xbox detects a ip address, but if i put an WEP password on my router my xbox cannot detect a ip address.
Any ideas of how to detect an ip address. I’ve already tried the manually setup that didn’t work.

If you put a password on your router, then you have to give that password to your xbox so it can access your router. You need to go into your xbox network settings and put that same password in those settings. You may also need to input the SSID of your router (this is the name of your private home network) and the type of security you’re using. In this case, you’re using WEP.
