Netgear Wireless Router not connecting after Windows 7 updated automatically. Please help!?
A friend of mine just bought a new computer. After she got it created was able to set up your router (She has the Netgear WGR614) with no problem. That night he went to bed and when she got out of Windows 7 is automatically updated and restarted the computer. Since then he has been able to get your router to connect. The team believes that the connection, but when you try to connect to it, it just says could not connect and to try to solve her problems, she said that is not a problem. She has already tried uninstall and reinstall. He has also tried to restart the router. Nothing seems to be working! Please help!
I use XP and never used Windows 7 but it could be the same or similar to configure the wireless connection. Try these steps. First make sure that your computer is configured to connect to your routers DHCP server. This is how your PC is a network address is, IP address, default gateway and dns. To ensure that its implementation properly …. Go to Start> Run> type services.msc and press enter. Scroll down to dhcp client and make sure the service is started and sure it is set to automatic. If it is set to automatic, it will automatically assign a network address to connect to the Internet. Usually after update can return to default settings disabled in which case you can not connect to the router, even if it says connected. Now you should be able to connect, if not, there is a more on the PC you need to order … follow these steps to ensure your computer is configured to obtain IP address. Click Click Start> Control Panel Network> and Internet> Network Connections> Wireless Network Connection, right click> properties Internet protocol TCP /> IP and make sure its configured to obtain IP address and dns server. Now restart your PC and be connected to the router and give a direction so you can connect to the web. GL
