troubleshooting netgear router WGT624 v3?
I bought the router to connect to my laptop which is a hp pavilion dv6000 series..I also have a desktop which is also a hp pavilion a1700n of course the desktop would be the main source here..my issue is once I did get everything setup everything was working fine maybe two or three months down the line I was unable to get an internet connection on my laptop but yet my computer recognized my wireless connection it just not connecting to the internet..the desktop is running fine with internet the router itself still has the wifi light lite and one of the numbers lite but no connection I called my dsl provider AT&T they did troubleshooting with me but nothing called NETGEAR my warranty was up and they want to charge me $35 an hr for troubleshooting which is BS anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do other then pay for ts on a product that has already been bought
I have the same router and I connect two desktops, an xbox 360 (both wired connections), and a laptop (wireless connection). Though I do not know the exact answer to your problem, I will explain my setup to you.
I have a cable modem which is connected to my WGT624. From there the connection is split up into 4 and my primary desktop is the first input in the back (the yellow cat5 port). Then my secondary is my xbox, then the other desktop, then my laptop from wireless.
Make sure that you have updated all of your internet drivers or it may even be a good idea to reinstall them. Also make sure to go to routerlogin.com and check your router for new firmware updates and then look through the settings of the router to see if one of your IP adresses is conflicting with another one. (to login to your router, the username is ‘admin’ and the password is ‘password’.
Hope I helped some. I know just getting on the internet can be a pain in the a**.
