anybody have any suggestions on setting up a netgear wireless router for use with a Wii?
i dont have any problems accessing the internet from my wii. i also do not have any trouble playing random people online on the wii but when i try to play a specific friend it will not work. i have been told it has something to do with my netgear wgr614 routers security settings. i have entered in the friend codes and what not it just wont connect when chosing a specific friend. some one told me that it has to do with direct connecting to my router since i am playing a specific person, is that true? i have already downloaded an update for my router(which is what nintendo told me to do but it did not work). when i test my connection on the wii it always comes up as good and there are never any issues when surfing the web or playing a random selection of people. any suggesttions or advice would be greatly appreciated

If you do not have any problems with random people or the internet, it could be the security of your friend’s network.
Do they have problems playing with anyone else on the internet?
You could also try setting up DMZ in your router for your Wii – that would open all ports and assure that there are no problems.
You’d probably want to look at your router documentation or contact Netgear for help with that.
