WAN LAN does not work for the new router Netgear WGR614?
We just bought a new router Netgear WGR 614v7 router to replace a temperamental that we before. Do not change any settings for laptops (which connects wirelessly fine before) or the towers. All we did was out sub routers line and wireless works, so we have Internet, but the WAN or laptop does not connect. It keeps saying acquiring network address and never do it. Before you start changing things you should not I was hoping someone knew why our WAN is not working now
Was your wireless network safe? If you replaced the wireless routers wireless network key is probably different. Navigate to the router IE (Open, type 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) and enter your router's firmware (from a computer connected to the LAN, of course). Locate the wireless security settings and see if they are using WEP or WPA key and what is.
