Fast Internet with a modem with router, but slow?
I have a Linksys modem and Netgear WGR614 v6 router. I had a 3 MB line cable from February 1, 2007 and never experience slow speed while running wireless before. Yesterday, the router started to show a speed of 510 kbps. When plugged my computer directly to the modem, the speed was 3 MB. Why is doing well? I do not understand. Can you please help me solve this or point to a good resource. Thanks
I think something is wrong with the configuration of your router. Maybe you should try to reinstall the router with the installation disk. Not I am very familiar with this because I have this modem "/ router" box. It has both a modem and an embedded wireless router. In your case, try to reinstall it, or try clearing your browser cache. Also, does the router connected to your computer via USB or Ethernet? If USB, I think the USB hub may have some issues. Try the 3 options I gave you. I never really had this problem or heard of him, but I think it helped! One more thing, make sure that if your modem comes with filters phone, you have the filters properly installed.
