netgear wireless router wgt624 v3 adding computer

Netgear Router still a no go…?

I have been trying since yesterday morning to configure my WGT624 v3 router to work with my new AT&T DSL.

I previously used Clearwire Wireless Broadband and the router was working. I connected the new modem to the computer directly and set up my account with AT&T. When I tried to add the router however, the internet connection ceased to work. I called Netgear, but I have exceeded my 90 days and I called AT&T who was no help, on both occasions.

I have enabled the modem for the PPPoE to be both on the modem and on the computer, and neither works. I have tried every possible setting I can think of and still no internet. It’s as if the router is not starting the PPPoE as it should.

Is there a way to spoof the MAC address for my router? Is that necessary with AT&T? Everyone I’ve talked to hasn”t been able to tell me what I”m doing wrong.

If you think you can help but need more info, email me: titanium89man@gmail.com

I really need help, this is getting retarded…

1) Can you connect to the router with the computer?

2) Can you connect from the computer, through the router, to the modem?

3) Is the modem assigning internal addresses? If it is, DISABLE DHCP on the router and connect the modem to a router LAN jack, not to its WAN jack – you want a hub, not a router.

4) Some routers can spoof a MAC address, some can’t, but AT&T should accept whatever MAC address you tell them you’re using.
