Unable to connect my laptop wirelessly?
Hello. I just bought a Dell that has Windows Vista. I can connect via wireless on my Vista laptop others, but I just bought it is having problems. I can connect this laptop with the Ethernet cable and works well. But for mobile phone: It recognizes the network, but when I log says it failed. When I fix that says, "the association is not wi-fi, because Windows has not received any response the wireless router or access point "My router is a Netgear WGT624 108Mbps saying v4 on it. I tried to update the firmware, said it so far. When I to routerlogin.net (third team) is a wireless configuration tab with these details: Wireless Network Name (SSID): Region: Channel: Mode: Security Options None WEP WPA-PSK [TKIP] WPA2-PSK [AES] WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] Do I need to change any of these? At this time the security is none, the Canal is at 6 and is Auto108 mode. Please help I'm going crazy trying to figure this out.
None is not good, people could be liable for your Internet connection without their knowledge, harmless if you just check your email, let alone if they are pirating software or search any abusive. The security option should be put WPA2-PSK, since both laptops run Vista is a safe bet that support it. Set a password that is not easy to guess, but you can remember to type it into your computers Portable.
