I won a Samsung HPT5054 720p 50 "plasma TV in my company party …?
… and since then I've done some research and learned that there may be some problems with audio and image burn. I have not received it yet and could change to any other similarly priced TV that offers PC Richard. Should I?
Honestly, I think the user then gave us good advice, but are the plasma TV is superior to that of the DLP and LCD … the burn in issues are, in my opinion, wayyy overdone. The newer plasmas (such as HPT5054) do not have that problem as much as older models and if it does experience burn-in, it quickly resolves itself. We bought the 42 "version that plasma TV and we are very happy with it … the relationship between black is superb and sound quality, while the average is easily complemented with a surround sound system (which you should do anyway!). Always and when you drive your HDTV with a great new HD source (ie DirecTV HD) and maximize the capabilities of your set with HDMI interface cable instead of component cables A / V is going to be fine. If it is determined that a "refresh" your TV just won I would suggest stick the plasmas, specifically Panasonic or Pioneer and perhaps move up to 1080p. I prefer plasma because of the image / color quality is the top priority for me … the sound will be a digital output of your HD source so that it can always be congratulated. And the burn-in, questions of general longevity, are something of the past (a unless unlucky enough to get a flawed system, a situation that could happen with LCD, DLP or hell … including technology CRT). Either So you decide to go, good luck! And happy "HDing" … You never want!
