Plasma HDTV question…?
Okay…been looking to buy new plasma TV but i am lost as to what the difference is for Samsung (as an example) to charge wayyy more for one model for the same features as a model that is much cheaper. Im lost, i’ve been comparing the specs of each TV and i see maybe one or two more ports but that sure doesnt cost $400 extra does it? what is the difference? for example…go to bestbuy.com and go to the TV section, click on PLASMA, then click on 50″-59″ and then choose “samsung” and you’ll see a TV for under $1000 and a few over, but all the same specs…why is this? what is the reason the one tv is more money? please help me if you can…thank you
It could be a variety of reasons but here is what usually is the most major ones. Yes one is the number of hookups. Also though it can be resolution like 1080p or 720p. 1080p sets usually cost more than 720p sets although in many cases you would be hard pressed to see the difference. Screen refresh rates also could make a difference in price athough most plasmas nowadays have 600hz refresh rates. Some plasmas are Internet enabled allowing you to visit specific Internet sites on your tv. It could also be an LCD model. These are usually the major differences in plasma pricing from 1 to the next one but 720p versus 1080p is usually were you see the most difference in price.
