Can’t Pick Up TV Channels (Australia) Through My Video Player With My Big Antenna?
I live in Australia and just connected my old Samsung analog TV to my big antenna whcich picks up everything on my plasma. If I go through the TV I pick up all the channels except Ten, but when I go through the video player (which I need for taping), it’s all blurry and uncomprehensible. But only when I go through the video player. Why is this and how do I fix it? My TV’s model no. is TV-4881. The SVC model no. is TV48816X/XSA. My video player’s model number is SV-24013. Please help.
Well, you’ll NEVER be able to fix the Video player….
You see, the Video player was developed YEARS ago, when the old 480i TV sets were used.
The funny thing is the Video players could never keep up with 480, because it would take Ungodly amounts of tape for even 480 lines of resolution, so they cut back the amount of lines they recorded.
They backed it down to about 320 lines of picture and then used a process of filling in between the lines.
THAT is why you get such a BAD PICTURE…
You’ll have to buy a TIVO or possibly use a DVD recorder for the recording process.
The downside is that will only work until they shut off the Low Definition signal.
When that happens, and you want to record, you’ll be forced to get either CABLE or Satellite with a DVR built into the box.
The GOOD news is that DVR will be easier to setup recordings, and it will record both Hi Def and Low Def signals VERY CLEARLY….
So maybe it’s time to switch to satellite, eh?
