How do I “learn” my tv remote to control other devices? The remote has target buttons for vcr/dvd/ect
tv is a samsung 42 Inch PS42C7SX plasma, it has a set and reset button on the remonte
if the remote was supplied with the set then there should be a list of manufacturers codes in the tv’s manual. first you press the device you want to control on the remote (dvd/vcr etc) this “tells” the remote it now has to control the source you have requested-point the remote at the source and follow the instructions using the codes (hopefully printed in your manual). the remote will then “learn” the remote operation for that source. when this is done go round all the other sources (hi-fi etc) and repeat the process. when you have done this to select a source to control just press the relevant button on your remote. sometimes if you are lucky the remote will already be able to control the source you wish to programme into it-to test for this press the power on button on the remote-if the source comes on-it is already programmed into the remote and you need do nothing more just go to the next source and programme that.
