Should I stretch the image on my plasma to get rid of black bars to prevent burn in?
I just bought a 42 inch Samsung Plasma and I have heard that one of the things that can burn in on the screen are the black bars (i.e. black bars on the left and right when watching TV and black bars that sometimes appear on the top and bottom when watching a movie).
Should I set the TV to stretch images to fit the full screen to get rid of these black bars in order to prevent burn in on the plasma?
It seems to me that I would have to do this to avoid burn in since I could be watching for example TV for 6 hours and changing the channel all the time but the black bars would just sit there for 6 hours which sounds really bad in terms of burn in risk.

YES !! That is recommended on ALL TV types !!
The TV sets that were the worst….Plasma and CRT….
The UNEXPECTED ONES are the LCD projection, LCD panel, LCOS , SXRD (Sony)
The ONLY one to not burn…..it’s the Mitsubishi DLP.
