Question about the new Samsung Plasma HDTV.?
I recently bought a new Samsung HDTV Plastma. Is the Samsung – 50 " 1080p plasma flat panel HDTV to be exact. My question concerns the calibration of the best buy Geek Squad offers. I wonder if anyone has had the service performed and if the value of $ 250.00 they charge. From what I understand, you calibrate the colors look perfect, but the TV looks great because is out of the box. I was debating whether to get the calibration or 4-year plan of service that best buy offers. The two are $ 250 but i can not afford both unfortunately. Please someone who has had the calibration done, tell me if it's worth. "It looks like TV that much better or not much difference?
What is better have a professional do it – but you can make a rough calibration yourself. Buy "Digital Video Essentials" and go through the tutorials and adjust brightness / contrast / Color because it makes the test patterns. There is a standard definition and BlueRay version. Remember that improving systems have different settings for each entry. When calibrating TV on DVD player – will have no effect on your HD cable box. Connect the DVD player on the other input and calibrate. Then plug in the cable TV and tune because your DVD player is a device different from your cable box and is different from your satellite box is different from your game system …. (See where this is going?) The professional will do all that, but you should know how to make gross adjustments yourself. Good "Digital Video essentials" disk is something like $ 18.
