'Burn TV': I plasma TVs were the only television could burn in '… But …?
In the instruction to my Samsung HD LCD TV says there is a risk of "burn in" if left too long with something that could cause "burns" … Or is that the LCD can get "burn in" too?
What is burn in? Burn is one of the most widely misunderstood concepts with respect to television screens. Burn in is a phenomenon associated with television productions in a static image left on the screen, over time, can be used permanently on the screen. This phenomenon is usually associated with phosphorus-based television shows such as tubes, CRT rear projection and plasma. A common question is whether the LCD televisions are susceptible to burn in. The most common answer to this question is no, LCDs are immune to burn in. However, this response is something like a half-truth. The Truth About LCD burn in is a fact that LCD screens are immune to phosphor wear, simply because they do not use LCD TVs match to create a television image. Otherwise, it would be like saying an electric car can run out of gas. However, LCD displays have certain features that do not make them completely immune to static images. The LCD screen is kind referred to as "video memory." Panels LCD uses a complicated process of organizing the liquid crystal molecules in a twisted or untwisted state, which allows polarized light to pass through liquid crystal substrate. Over time, it is possible that liquid crystals can "get used" state of torque that are causing a static image, similar to that of phosphorus burn-in, appears on the screen. Some say that by simply turning off the screen for 24-48 hours eliminates the effect, while others have argued that the effect is permanent in extreme cases. However, home users of LCD TVs have little to fear. Why is the video memory little concern to televisions LCD The nature of LCD products makes them extremely resistant to the construction of video memory. The only time you'll really see this problem is in the world of computing. If, for example, Windows or Macintosh desktop was left uninterrupted on a LCD screen without a screen saver for a long period of time, is likely that the video memory will build up and possibly be permanent. As television, LCD products get enough movement of the image, or cycle on and off enough, that the combination of video memory is very unlikely. Leaving static images on a LCD monitor for a relatively short period of time have no detrimental effect on the screen. In other words, just get the accumulation of video memory on an LCD TV if you try to do it on purpose. If someone says that to avoid a product because of burns LCD, you can be sure the person you are talking to is misinformed about the nature of LCD products. LCD is a robust technology and excellent, and should be considered for any owner of TV. There is no need for the user of television to address the video memory as simply not possible in normal vision.
