Wireless Router Help??
i am new to this and i am trying to put an encryption code on my Buffalo AirStation Wireless G. (model: WHR-G54S) the problem is that my computer is not detecting the router and i can not run the wireless network setup. if you could tell me how to make my comp. find my router i would appreciate it thanks.
also i can access my router through my ps3 and laptop but it has no security. that is why i want to encrypt it with WEP
Well, first, WIRE the computer to the router. That way you can set things without getting disconnected and having a real problem. Never attempt to configure a router with wireless, you will normally regret it!.
Once wired. log into the Buffalo, your username is root and the password is whatever you set it to. Go to the wireless settings. Change the SSID to something you will know and see! (be sure broadcast is turned on) Then click on security settings. From there you can put a password in and set either wep or WPA , WPA is safer IF all your machines can use it.
