How do I use just modem feature of a 2 in 1 wireless router?
I have a Netopia 3000 2 in 1 router. It has a dsl modem and a wireless router with Lan ports built in. I also have a Linksys wireless WRT54GS router I would like to use to output my wireless.
How do I setup the Netopia 3000 router so that it acts as just a modem and not a router so I can use my Linksys router to host the PPOE connection and connect to the internet through the Linksys router?
I figured it out. Along with disabling wireless you also have to disable NAT and DCHP. Then you have to put the Netopia Router in system bridge mode and make sure that the firewall is set to clearsail.
Just disable Wireless on Netopia. If you cannot do that, then setup a password on both routers and use the one you want.
DSL Cable into Netopia, Lan cable between Netopia & Linksys.
