Linksey I have a wireless router, how I can set a password to block others wireless?
I have a router linksey. I have two desktop PC to the same network and a laptop for wireless connection. The two desktop computers have a network cable that goes from your computer to the router. The laptop has a wireless card in it. How I can set a password or block wireless calculated from others using my internet? Thanks a lot!
Look at the address of your network gateway. (From a computer that is connected to the router). It could be 192.168.1.1 Open your Internet Explorer and type in that gateway address in the address field. On a Linksys, leave the username blank and enter admin password. If that connects you, then go to wireless security setting. Set one of the types of security settings. Next, enter a security word and press the Generate button. Gosh, Wireless section, you can change the SSID to something like "mySillyNet" so you can identify it. Go to the laptop and enter the code is generated. Gee, I hope you wrote that down. Good luck and Happy Computing!
