wireless router home ip address
My laptop and my Playstation 3 conflict IP addresses on my home wireless linksys network. How can I fix this?

The problem I have is that when I turn on the Playstation 3 and my laptop is already on, they start to conflict on their IP addresses and neither can consistently connect to the internet. This wasn’t always an issue, but started recently. What can I do to change the network IP address on my laptop to correct this? I have a Linksys WRT54GS router.

Make sure the dhcp is on ( automatically assigns ips)
at the worst reset the router
Clear out the ip from at least the computer ( do not know how it is done in the ps3)
My suspicion is that you have played around too much with things you do not know – you most likely have locked an ip in the networking.
In the networking the ip and dns ( or at least the ip) should be automatic not fixed

reboot everything
the linksys router should assign non conficting ips – that is its job if the dhcp is on

reset the router
start from scratch
unplug the modem
reboot all
that should do it

don’t make things unncessarily complex
networking is hard enough to begin with

this may help as well
