wireless router home use review
Do Gateway Desktops have a common problem with wireless adapters?

I bought this from Best Buy about a week ago.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+-+Desktop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i3+Processor/9698918.p?id=1218153427813&skuId=9698918&st=gateway%20desktop&cp=1&lp=1

I tried THREE different brands of wireless adapters to connect to my home router, but neither I nor that Geek Squad could connect the adapter with the computer.

We used DL, Bilken, and Netgear (G series) and the computer couldn’t recognize the adapter.

I already left it with the Geek Squad (who ripped me off by charging me 30 bucks to try and connect it) but my general question is…..

Is Gateway know for having sucky connections with wireless adapters? I’ve read reviews of people who loath the brand, but the specs seemed great and for the right price.

Stories and expertise would be appreciated. (And an explanation if not connecting to wireless adapters is common.)

I don’t think the problem is with the computer…………it’s the “GEEK SQUAD”………….for the most part they are “dummies” and are intent on ripping people off. I have seen it happen several times to people I know. Also I hate BestBuy.

I would take it back to them and MAKE them refund ALL of the money you have paid them.

I would try Sam’s Club or Wallmart. They have good prices and and just all round better than BestBuy.

Good luck
