Can a wireless router be set up to be used in place of a wifi card?
I live just barely on the outside range of a wireless hotspot, my wifi card just barely picks it up sometimes, but not well at all. I just recently was given a linksys wireless g router. I’m wondering if its possible to either…
a) Use the router to pick up the signal in place of a regular wifi card (I figure it would work better since its got two 6 inch antennas on it).
b) Set up the router as an inbetween point, to pick up and re-broadcast the signal stronger?
Thanks.
question ? why do people answer questions when they have no freaking clue what they are talking about ?
you will still need the wifi card , how do you plan on receiving the signal ?
the router simply send a signal from your broadband connection wireless to your wifi card . if you have no broadband , then you will have no Internet and will have to continue using the hot spot
router
