IP Address conflict in wireless Linksys router?
Since I've been in school for my wireless internet in my new house has been horrible and cut randomly. Sometimes the error "IP address" conflict appears. As I said I have a Linksys router and I can get back into the configuration page of 192.168.1.1. However, sometimes another page of the router to a verizon Westell modem is listed when I enter the same IP address. I'm thinking it's the modem neighbors. Any advice to fix this? I have no idea how to solve this problem. How I can protect my network and make only just me and my fellow room can upload? Do I make a static IP address, and how to know what numbers to elect a new IP?
You need to verify that you are always connecting to your wireless network. When web to 192.168.1.1 and get the router interface page bad sounds like you accidentally connected to their neighboring wireless LAN. The IP address conflict could be the computer gets an IP address from the DHCP server in the neighboring router and a static mapping on your LAN from the same IP. He is probably getting the same message and wondering what is happening. Make sure you are connected to your router and you should be fine.
