wireless router mac address filter
I have my Xbox 360 connected to my PC. He says that my modem can have my MAC address filtering. A lil help?

It has worked before, and I have not changed nothing. What it says: Can not connect to your network hardware using a static IP address. The router may be filtering into the console MAC address in its PC, go to your router's configuration web page. Make sure your router MAC address filtering allows your console MAC address is disabled. The console MAC address is 0025AE0d09d8. Have you checked your MAC filtering settings yet? ——— The problem is that I am not using a router. I'm using a modem the PC is connected via wireless Internet. I've checked the website for options and I do not think that works. I tried to reset the IP address, the two adapters, and restarted both machines. Is there anything I missed? Let me know what is good. Thank you.

Some ISPs only allow you to take the static IP address at a time. The MAC address of your network card and the card in the XBOX are unique to the cable modem. I can pay the extra money to my ISP to allow me to have 3 static connections. Once I have the 3 connections that remembers the MAC address of each machine. If I were to disconnect one of my computers and trying to fix a friends computer, absoultely refuse to give internet access to your computer. As soon as I put in the back of others, its fine. The only way you can avoid this problem is to reboot the modem so it forget all the MAC addresses. At the restart, I mean unplug it and remove the battery for a few seconds. Try this and see if you can get it running. If you can only get a connection to the device at a time, then that is probably the reason (that the provider only allows one IP #). You must call to verify or get a router to be divided into a multiple IP #.
